Description

This delicious Cheesy Garlic Pull-Apart Bread is perfect as a side dish or party appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf sourdough or Italian bread
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Bread: Using a serrated knife, make diagonal cuts in the bread about 1 inch apart, creating a diamond pattern. Be sure not to cut all the way through the loaf.
  3. Mix the Butter and Garlic: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff the Bread: Carefully separate the bread sections and use a spoon or a pastry brush to drizzle the garlic butter mixture into the cuts.
  5. Add the Cheese: Stuff the shredded mozzarella and cheddar into the cracks as well. Be generous to ensure cheesy goodness in every bite.
  6. Wrap and Bake: Wrap the bread loosely in aluminum foil. This will help to heat it evenly while keeping it soft. Place the wrapped loaf on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, uncover the top and bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.

Notes

  • Cheese Variations: Feel free to experiment with different cheese combinations like gruyere or fontina for a unique flavor twist.
  • Herbs: Add additional herbs like chives or rosemary for enhanced aroma.
  • Bread Substitution: If you prefer, use a different kind of bread, such as a French baguette, but adjust the cooking time accordingly to prevent burning.
  • Reheating: If you have leftovers, reheat the bread in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes to restore its crispy texture.
