Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just mixed.
- Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts: Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and nuts if you’re using them.
- Assemble the Pie: Spread the cookie dough into a pie dish evenly. Arrange the milk chocolate buttons on top, pressing them slightly into the dough.
- Bake: Place the pie dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but soft.
- Cool: Allow the cookie pie to cool in the dish for about 10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
