Description

Enjoy these delightful and festive treats with friends and family!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cornflakes cereal
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  • Red cinnamon candies (or red M&M’s)

Instructions

  1. Melt the Butter: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter slowly so it doesn’t burn.
  2. Add Marshmallows: Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.
  3. Add Vanilla and Coloring: Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Then, add several drops of green food coloring and mix until the color is evenly distributed. Adjust the amount of coloring until you reach the desired shade of green.
  4. Mix Cornflakes: Gently fold in the cornflakes, making sure they are all fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Shape the Wreaths: On a piece of wax or parchment paper, spoon out the mixture and form small wreath shapes. Use your fingers or the back of a spoon to create a hole in the center of each mound, forming a ring.
  6. Decorate: While the wreaths are still sticky, press a few red cinnamon candies onto each of them to resemble holly berries.
  7. Cool and Set: Allow the wreaths to cool at room temperature until they are firm and set, about 15 minutes.

Notes

  • Grease Your Hands: Lightly grease your hands with butter or a non-stick spray when shaping the wreaths to prevent sticking.
  • Variations: For added flavor, consider mixing in some shredded coconut or chopped nuts.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
