Description
Deliciously rich brown butter pecan cookies topped with a sweet glaze.

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 0 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 0 teaspoon baking soda
- 0 teaspoon salt
- 1 cups chopped toasted pecans
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk or cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently, until golden and fragrant. Let cool for 10–15 minutes.
- Toast the chopped pecans at 350°F (175°C) for 7–9 minutes until fragrant. Cool completely.
- In a large bowl, mix browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Fold in the toasted pecans gently.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
- Let cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
- Make frosting: melt 2 tablespoons butter, add powdered sugar and milk or cream. Stir until smooth.
- Spoon glaze over cooled cookies and top with extra chopped pecans while the glaze is still wet.
Notes
- For best results, chill the dough for longer if time permits.
- Ensure cookies are cooled before glazing to prevent melting.
