Description

A deliciously refreshing Frozen Peppermint Cream Pie, perfect for holidays or special occasions!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made graham cracker pie crust (9-inch)
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • optional green food coloring
  • for topping crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
  • for garnish fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ice Cream Mixture: In a large bowl, mix the softened vanilla ice cream with peppermint extract. Add a few drops of green food coloring if desired and stir until well combined.
  2. Spread the Mixture: Pour the ice cream mixture into the graham cracker pie crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  3. Freeze the Pie: Place the pie in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  4. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  5. Decorate the Pie: Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the top of the frozen pie. Sprinkle crushed candy canes or peppermint candies over the whipped cream. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
  6. Serve: Slice and serve immediately, or store in the freezer until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding chocolate chips into the ice cream mixture.
  • Make sure the pie is fully frozen before serving to ensure it holds its shape.
  • You can use a chocolate cookie crust for a different flavor combination.
  • Adjust the amount of peppermint extract according to your taste preference.
