Instructions
- Make the Cream Cheese Glaze:
– In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
– Gradually add powdered sugar and continue mixing.
– Stir in vanilla extract and milk until you achieve a smooth, pourable consistency. Set aside. - Prepare the Waffle Batter:
– In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
– In a separate medium bowl, beat the eggs. Add buttermilk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing well.
– Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined and the batter is smooth. Avoid over-mixing. - Cook the Waffles:
– Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease if necessary.
– Pour the appropriate amount of batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook until waffles are crisp and cooked through. - Assemble:
– Serve waffles warm with a drizzle of cream cheese glaze.
