- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with parchment paper cups.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned. Drain any excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Prepare Wet Mixture: In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and beaten eggs.
- Combine Ingredients: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Add the cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Fill Muffin Tins: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top if using.
- Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm.
