Description
A deliciously moist banana bread made with overripe bananas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large overripe bananas
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the overripe bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
- Add the granulated sugar to the mashed bananas and mix until fully combined. The mixture should be creamy.
- Sprinkle the all-purpose flour and baking soda over the banana-sugar mixture. Gently fold everything together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean when it’s done.
- Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. After this, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, slice the banana bread and serve. It’s delicious warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Store banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, freeze sliced banana bread and reheat in the toaster or microwave.
