Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
- Add Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add Coloring: Gradually mix in green food coloring until the desired shade is reached.
- Combine Ingredients: Gradually beat in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Add Chocolate: Stir in the optional chocolate chips if using.
- Shape Cookies: Roll dough into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Gently press red chocolate candies into the tops of each cookie.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool: Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
