This delicious baked marinated tempeh is a perfect plant-based dish that can be served over rice or vegetables.
Ingredients

- 8 oz firm tempeh, cut into cubes
- ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp miso paste (white or yellow)
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, miso paste, maple syrup, minced garlic, and sesame oil until smooth.
- Place the tempeh in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Arrange the marinated tempeh on a lined baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the edges, drizzling with remaining marinade halfway through.
- Serve hot over rice or vegetables.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, marinate the tempeh longer if time allows.
- This recipe can be easily doubled for larger servings.
